Shearing Services: Now Offering Comb and Cutter Sharpening! Sheep Shearing $3.50 and up Price per head will be determined based on age (Lamb vs. Ewe) sheep size (frame & weight), and flock size. Quotes are general, actual cost will be determined after examination of the flock. Bucks are double, Horned Bucks are triple charged. *All Charges Subject to Discounts for Volume *10 and less sheep, minimum of $50.00 charge just for shearing, not including travel **Penning sheep, changing pens, and wool handling will add to cost of shearing. If there is assistance for the shearer, there will be no extra charges.
Llamas & Alpacas: $15 - $30 Admittedly, We are not camelid experts! We've taken up llama and alpaca shearing because we've been overwhelmed with requests! We require that all animals to be shorn have halters on.
Set-up Charge - Set up charge will apply to flocks under 20 sheep and will vary. We will advise you of the all charges prior to shearing. Travel Charge - Due to rising fuel costs, it may be necessary to add a travel charge to our fees, separate from a set-up charge. We apologize in advance if there is any inconvenience and for your consideration. To assist you in determing what the travel cost would be, please enter your address information into the MapQuest link. The standard charge is $0.25 per mile Round Trip from Our Home to Yours.
Other Services Offered: Comb and Cutter Sharpening -- We sharpen all shearing combs and cutters for Sheep, Mohair, and Camelid equipment. Combs $1.25, Cutters $.50. Payment must be with shipment, including return postage. Package will be returned within 5 days of reciept.
Tagging / Crutching -- tagging or crutching is the practice of shearing around the tail and udder to reduce the risk of fly strike, improve the quality of the fleece, and provide more sanitary conditions for nursing lambs. $1.00
Hoof Trimming --
We understand that hoof trimming can be a difficult task. Depending on the
condition of the flock's hooves, our fee ranges from $2.00-$2.50*. The price
will be determined upon inspection. If hoof rot is present, we will treat as you
see fit with medication provided by you.
Drenching / De-worming -- For your convenience, we will administer Ivomec brand drench with our own equipment for $2.00 per animal or $1.00* if you provide the medication and equipment.
Vaccinations -- We would be happy to administer any kind of vaccination or shot upon request. We are always willing to help improve the efficiency of your operation. Fees are the same as the Drenching, if both done at the same time, you will not be double charged.
